<p> Citizens 50 mile tour from Durango to Silverton. This one started it all! Take off with the train, traveling over two 10,000ft mountain passes enroute to the historical mining town of Silverton. There are four aid stations with food and water along the route. There is no technical support on course. 27 miles of the route to Silverton is a closed road.</p> <p> <img alt="" class="image" src="https://cloudpowered.blob.core.windows.net/images/gf-iron-horse-p.png" style="width: 960px; height: 640px;" /></p> <p> Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is located in the southwestern corner of Colorado in the beautiful San Juan Mountains, 25 scenic miles north of the town of Durango on Highway 550.<br /> Registration Fee: $80  Field limit 200 riders</p> <p> Return Transportation Riders who need return transportation from Silverton can purchase a bus or train return trip. Bikes are also transported. Bike pickup is 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Durango High School. Charge is $40, and space is limited. Riders are not allowed to ride back from Silverton.</p> <p> ** All riders must be past Coal Bank Pass Summit by 11:30 am and Molas Pass by 12:30 pm. Riders not past those points will be transported by bus to Silverton, and their bikes will be trucked. Roads open to vehicles at 1:00 pm and all riders must be off by then!<br /> <br /> *Permits pending for event*<br /> <br /> ** If the event is cancelled due to weather there will be no reimbursement nor event postponement **<br /> <br /> Return Transportation Riders who need return transportation from Silverton can purchase a bus or train return trip. Bikes are also transported. Bike pickup is 3-7 pm at Durango High School. Charge is $40, and space is limited. Riders are not allowed to ride back from Silverton.<br /> <br /> $10 of entry fee is donated to Mercy Health Foundation and other Community Organizations</p>
