Do you have what it takes? You only get one chance every two years. 100 miles (160km) or 100 km – your choice of century!  It’s billed as the toughest, flattest cycling event in the outback. On Saturday 27 September, the Brodie Agencies/Ergon Energy Outback Festival Century Challenge takes participants on a metric (100km) ride on a fully sealed road, starting and finishing in Winton. It may not be overly hilly, but what the ride lacks in physical tests, it more than makes up for in mental challenge. So what’s the challenge you may ask? Out here there are no big climbs, there are miles of wide-open spaces and there are more emus than cars. The challenge is not just physical – it’s also mental! But once you get your head around the sheer vastness of this great outback land of ours, it will be an adventure you will cherish for life! Come Celerbate 150 Years of Winton 2025.
