Celebrated as Arizona’s oldest and most iconic gravel grinder, the Chino Grinder has earned its reputation as the toughest gravel race in the West. Traversing 75–95% unpaved terrain, it’s the ultimate test for cyclists eager to push their limits—whether you’re tackling your first century or chasing a new personal record. This endurance cycling event highlights Arizona’s diverse beauty while traveling on sections of the longest continuously used road in the country.  The remote course has multiple distances suitable for all ages and experience levels, and draws a vibrant, diverse community united by a passion for gravel riding.

While our modern bike wheels may have replaced wooden wagons of days ago, traversing these rugged parts requires the same grit and sense of adventure.  The course follows the Overland Historic Road Trail, the oldest continuously used road in the United States (since 1000 AD).  Certainly, this ride promises to be an unforgettable day in the saddle of shared fun, memories, and adversity.  Along the way, well-stocked aid stations and welcoming volunteers create an encouraging atmosphere, guiding you up relentless climbs and down thrilling descents for a truly unforgettable challenge and reward.

Chino Valley is a rural, ranching and agricultural community approximately 10 miles north of Prescott Valley, Arizona.  Known as ‘Big Sky’ country based on its endless views in every direction, Chino Valley sits at around 4,700 ft.  Although you won’t find the iconic saguaros most commonly associated with the Arizona desert, the surrounding rolling hills are blanketed in golden Gama grasses where native Pronghorn roam.

To accommodate riders of all abilities we offer course distance options of 23, 45, 63, and 107 miles.   Join us on for Arizona's most unique one day gravel cycling event.
