P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery is thrilled to announce that we have taken on the hugely popular Humber Bridge Sportive cycling event and will be hosting it this summer. Since its inception in 2014, the Humber Bridge Sportive event has raised over £100,000 for local charities, and has been a hugely successful event thanks the incredible efforts of its founders, Ian Nicholls and Andy Cawley.

For the past three years, we have been honoured to serve as the charity partner of the amazing Sportive event. Ian and Andy now feel it is time to pass the baton to us, entrusting us to continue their remarkable work and oversee this year's event. While they will remain involved, the team at P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery will handle the planning and execution of this year's Sportive. We are looking forward to welcoming returning riders and new participants to take part.

The event will offer a choice of 3 routes: 20, 40 and 60 miles - these can be viewed on our website here.

The HBS has previously incorporated The Humber Bridge as the starting point;

Due to planned engineering works taking place, this year’s event will not include the Humber Bridge Crossing, but we plan to resume the regular route across the bridge in 2026 and onwards.

All routes will set out from the Barton Town Football Club, before riding on the quiet roads of North Linconshire, which offer spectacular views across to Lincoln Cathedral and the Humber Estuary. The longer route will head towards the market town of Caistor, before tracking down towards the river Humber, and then return to Barton Town F.C, via Goxhill and Barton villages.

This event has specifically designed to appeal to all levels of cyclists; the short route is popular with families and those who are new to sportive events, whilst the long route option offers a challenge for more experienced riders.

Whilst the cost of staging the event continues to rise, we have tried to keep our entry fees as low as possible and still offer excellent value for money - our Feed Stations are a highlight of the event - check out photos from previous years on our Facebook page / website!!!

Feed stations are provided for each route, with an additional water/banana stop for the Long Route after 27 miles, and refreshments are available at the end of the ride - all riders will also receive a £2 voucher to put towards the cost of food, drink, or an ice cream, redeemable at The Barton Town F.C café.

Toilet and changing facilities are available at Barton Town F.C and toilets are situated at both Feed Stations on the Long/Medium routes.

Mechanical support and a mobile First Aid Unit will also be on duty throughout the event.

The event uses chip timing, and a certificate with your time will be available for download from Ride Timing.

Detailed information about the event, together with the routes, can be found on our website: www.humberbridgesportive.co.uk

Any updates and information are also posted regularly on our event Facebook page.

Final details will be posted on the website, and sent out by email once the ride has closed, approximately 3 weeks before the event.
