The Maryland Cycling Classic is America's top-ranked professional cycling race. Scheduled for Sunday September 6, 2026, the 124-mile (200 kilometer) men's one-day road race is patterned after the Classic-style racing of Europe. The race starts in Sparks, Md., in Baltimore County, and routes northwest up to the Pennsylvania border through hilly terrain. The northern section of the course features two laps around Pretty Boy Reservoir before making a straight-line into center-city Baltimore, which features four 12-kilometer circuits and a finish in the Inner Harbor and Harbor East districts. 

The race began in 2022 and has contested two iteration in 2023 and 2025. An elite women's race was staged in 2025 also. Both events were broadcast and livestreamed to more than 80 countries. The 2025 men's race was won by France's Sandy Dejardin of  Team Total Energies, as he outsprinted UXO-X Mobility's Jonas Abrahamsen and top American Brandon McNulty, who was racing for the U.S. National Team. The women's race was won by Poland's Agnieszka Skalniak-Sójka of Canyon//SRAM Racing.

Past race winner's on the men's side were Belgium classics specialist Sep Vanmarcke in 2022 and one of the world's top-ranked cyclists Mattias Skjelmuse of Denmark and team Lidl-Trek in 2023. American Neilson Powless of EF Education First has finished on the podium of the 2022 and 2023 races.

The event is free and open to the public. It features various fan zones along the course and a festival at the finish line. A Team Introduction and athlete autograph signing area highlights the weekend of activities the night before the races.

For 2026, the event is angling toward a public ride with a to be determined course and date.
