The 6th edition of Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie, Nova Scotia's first Gran Fondo cycling event, will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Our Gran Fondo has quickly grown to become a bucket list 'must-do' cycling and cultural experience! Now the largest cycling event in Atlantic Canada, we hosted 1,100 cyclists in 2019 - and we expect even more will ride with us this year! Our Gran Fondo will appeal to recreational riders of all skill levels, as well as to the avid racer. Although a timed event, this is more of a self-paced FUN group event, rather than a race.

Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie is offering 3 rides for 2023 -- our first event since 2019!

Experienced riders will be challenged by our 118 km Gran route, while novice cyclists may prefer the shorter 67 km Medio or 35 km Piccolo rides. Riders will navigate rolling inland roads along lakes and rivers, and pass by towering wooden churches along the panoramic coastal route that hugs beautiful Baie Sainte Marie. Downloadable maps of each route are on our website, including photo galleries, videos and testimonials.

The region's famous Acadian hospitality and culture will be highlighted during the social event on Saturday, Sept. 9.  The entire community rolls out the welcome mat as residents will enthusiastically cheer you on from the roadside, waving Acadian flags and banging pots and pans. After your unforgettable ride, share stories while savouring on fresh lobster, BBQ pork! or vegetarian option!
