Welcome to the King’s Cup Gravel Festival and British Gravel Championships.

Welcome to the King’s Cup, Britain’s ultimate gravel festival.

There’s no event like the King’s Cup and the 2022 event was a great weekend of riding, racing and fun, with two new senior national champions crowned and plenty of age group titles awarded.

We’re already working on the 2023 event and you’ll see the details here just as soon as we have them. But trust us, the third edition will be even better than 2022.

We’ll continue to host the British Gravel Championships and will return to King’s Forest, near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. As well as the racing there’ll be enjoyable and challenging rides for everyone.

And of course we’ll have live music, food stalls, a bar and an expo, so there’s plenty to do for everyone.

If you’re checking the wonderful world of gravel for the first time don’t worry, just bring you MTB, the mixed terrain in King’s Forest means those flat bars certainly won’t be out of place.

Sign up to our mailing list and follow us on social media and you won’t miss news of the 2023 King’s Cup.

Men's and Women's Gravel Race (British Gravel Championship event)

The British Gravel Championship elite Gravel Race is the biggest challenge of the King’s Cup Gravel Festival weekend. And there is no other place to compete for the British Gravel Championship. If you’re looking to compete in the Masters Championship please check the next section.

All off-road, the race is held on hard-packed and loose gravel, grass, dirt and sand through Suffolk’s beautiful King’s Forest. The tracks are wide enough for bunch racing and overtaking, making for a dynamic day’s competition.

The multi-lap format will be retained for 2023, with details to be announced soon.

The Masters Gravel Race (Men’s & Women’s race) is perfect challenge for those looking to take on their fellow age-group competitors. With British Gravel Master’s Champions jerseys on offer in all age categories, this is your chance to show your gravel racing prowess.

Gravel Fondo

The Gravel Fondo is like a road sportive but you’ll be riding on hard packed and loose gravel, grass, dirt and sand, with two distances available.

Sunday is Fondo only day, with a 40km and 100km course, including mechanical assistance and food stops on the fully marshalled route.

The first-ever Gravel Fondo in the UK gives everyone, including those who have little or no gravel riding experience, the chance to give it a go and experience the beauty of gravel riding.

Who’s it for?

The Gravel Fondo is for everyone. Ride with friends, family, club mates or on your own.

Our new 40km sportive is aimed at gravel beginners, while more accomplished riders can tackle our long 100km route. And remember, we are mountain bike friendly!

We expect the Gravel Fondo to sell out fast, so don’t delay once entries open.

Remember, more competitive riders out there can try entering our Gravel Race!
