Come check out some the best gravel scenery Iowa has to offer in this self-supported ride. Distances - 43,65,100, 200, 300, and 400 mile options. This is a choose your own adventure event and you can elect ride your bike any distance you want looping the routes together. This year the Event will have a 100 mile course that participants can do laps on and new for this year a true 200 mile course that participants can also ride laps on over the weekend.

Sign up as a team or individual to complete a 100 mile lap or ride it backwards for the 200 mile option. Like stated above this year we have a 200 mile course also and it can also be ridden forwards or backwards. Start times have historically been 6am, or 12pm, to keep you rolling out into the night. Look out for coyotes! ?? In the world we know live in where social distancing is encouraged participants can check in at anytime that is convenient for them and ride the course when ever they want over the 3 day weekend.

NEW FOR 2021: The Sterile Iowan is offer a race, NOT an event. The race will start at 10 am Saturday morning. The riders of this event will be riding the 100 mile course COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. To register for the race it is $50. The Race will be paying out the Top 3 Males and Females, 1st place $200 2nd place $150 and 3rd place $100. For the Race there is a $500 bounty on the course. The $500 bounty will be given to all Racers that finish the course under 5 hours and it will be up to the Racers to divide the money up among themselves. Also the numbers for the cash pay out are only the minimum, if more Racers show up I Dangerous Dan promise the pay out will go up and I will pay out more positions. I truly want to see fast riders race.

43, 65, 100, 200, 300, 400 and any distance in between: Can choose a 6am or 12pm start time on Saturday June 5th 2021. 300 and 400 Distances and anyone looking to increase the amount of social distancing can choose to start on Friday morning on June 4th 2021. They have 48hrs to complete their distances.

To Register for the Sterile Iowan send a Postcard or anything mail-able to Sterile Iowan Headquarters #SterileIowanHQ at 2716 Neola St, Cedar Falls Iowa 50613. On the postcard you need to have the fallowing:

Participants can show up and begin the registration process on Thursday June 3rd. Participants can take the course at 12 am on Friday June 4th and can continue to ride the course until the are completely exhausted on Sunday night at 11:59 PM. This is a choose your own adventure and a #YouDoYou event. The event is for all Participants not Racers. Distances for this event are 43, 65, 100, 200, 300, 400, also Participants can ride other distances by adding the 43 mile course or the 65 mile course to any of the 100 increments. Also Participants can select to ride the course clockwise or counterclockwise for any distance to make the event a unique adventure for everyone.

Race

The Race will take place on Saturday June 5th 2020 at 10 am. Registration can take place anytime before 9:45 am on the morning of Saturday June 5th. THE RACE WILL START AT 10 AM NO MATTER WHAT.

Registration from Memorial Day to Day of: ADD $10 to both $50 for EVENT $60 for RACE

Included with all entries Event and Race a Sterile Iowan t-shirt. To be Guaranteed a t-shirt at packet pickup registration must be received at Sterile Iowan Head Quarters by May 1st. No t-shirt can be promised to anyone after this date any extra t-shirts will be sold to anyone wanting one after all registered participants have checked in. For participants that get there registration into Sterile Iowan Head Quarters before St Patrick's Day (March 17) will receive a bonus gift that has not been determined yet.

Packet Pickups

Packet Pick up and Day of Registration will begin on Thursday June 3rd at 6pm until 8pm. Packet Pickup and Day of Registration will resume on Friday June 4th morning at 6 am and continue until 8 pm. Packet Pickup and day of Registration for Saturday June 5th will start at 5 am and continue until 8 pm. For anyone looking to ride the course or in need of registration on Sunday June 6th PLEASE LET DANGEROUS DAN KNOW THIS HAS NOT BEEN A POPULAR OPTION BUT IS AVAILABLE AND I DANGEROUS DAN WILL WORK WITH YOU.

Packet Pick up and Day of Registration will happen at 1400 Water St, Alden Iowa 50006. If this address does not work for you, drive down the hill in Alden Iowa when you get to the River turn west and you can not miss the park or ask some farmer they all know the Memorial Park location.

Prize / Race Categories

Sterile Iowan Event: This is a choose your own adventure and #YouDOYou. I, Dangerous Dan Event Dicktator of the Sterile Iowan DO NOT care if you are Male or Female. I also DO NOT care if you are riding a Fat-Tire bike or a Single Speed Bike, I also DO NOT care if you are riding a Fat-Tire Single Speed Bike. Please know your limits and do what you need to do to be successful for whatever mileage distance you set out to do.

Sterile Iowan Race: This is a race bring whatever you need to be successful.

If I have a large field for the Race I will be Increasing the pay out for all and increasing the depth as to what I pay out (4th, 5th, and possible deeper)

For all Racers both Male and Female that finish the Race under 5 hours there is a $500 Bounty on the course. The envelope with $500 in it will be handed to all Racers that finish the course under 5 Hours and it is up to them to divide the money up among themselves.
