The 12th annual River Towns Ride & Festival provides riders the opportunity to visit the historic riverfronts of New Castle, Delaware City, Chesapeake City and Wilmington while earning medals based on distance completed. This year’s ride will be held Saturday, October 11 beginning at 9am. All finishing riders receive medal for distance completed (minimum 20 miles), snack and complimentary craft beer. 

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Multiple route options on a course that is predominately flat between Historic Delaware City, Historic New Castle, Historic Chesapeake City and the Wilmington Riverfront. Three Official Starting Points: Downtown Historic New Castle, Downtown Historic Delaware,  Ben Cardin Trailhead, Chesapeake City, MD., Wilmington Riverfront @ DuPont Environmental Education Center.

Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals awarded based on distance completed. Visit all four River Towns and return to your starting point to earn Gold Medal.

Visit four historic river towns in this one-of-a-kind bike ride. The 12th annual River Towns Ride challenges you to ride for a gold medal by visiting all four river towns (62 miles) or take one of our shorter routes and earn a bronze or silver medal for distance completed.  

Registration Fees

Early-bird registration fees open Dec 2024. Fees increase gradually until ride day. 

Included

Medals to all riders who complete 20 or more miles. Bronze, silver and gold awarded. POST-RIDE RECEPTION at location to be determined. Reception features Live Music, Dogfish Head beer, Pizza slice. First beer free to all registered riders age 21 and older.
