The Vermont Gran Fondo (VTGF) was born from a famous bucket-list epic 4-gap ride known by the locals as the LAMB ride. LAMB comes from the names of 4 gaps (Lincoln Gap, Appalachian Gap, Middlebury Gap, and Brandon Gap), which, when combined into a single ride, can easily top 100 miles and over 10,000' of climbing.
For 2025, we will continue with our main courses: the Gran with 109 miles, 4 gap climbs, and 10,000' of climbing; the Medio with 80 miles, 2 gap climbs, and 5500' of climbing; the Piccolo with 40 miles, no gap climbs and 2700' of climbing. If you need something bigger, keep reading.
There is a new elevated challenge with a 6-gap course called Gran-X. The Gran-X course will cover the same roads and gaps as the Gran course but with 2 additional gap climbs, 40 miles, and 3500' of climbing for a total of 6- gaps, 140 miles, and 13500' of climbing. This course will be limited entry.
After completing your chosen challenge, enjoy tunes, a quality meal, and local craft brews while swapping stories and watching the sunset.
Choose from one of 4 amazingly scenic, challenging, and well-marked routes.
Entry into the apres-ride party with local food, brews, music, and a large tent.
Route signage marking every turn, cue sheets, and route maps at each rest stop.
Rest stops every 20-25 miles, motorcycle support,
SAG support and mechanical support along the course
Insurance coverage is included in the registration.
This is a non-competitive event. There are awards to third place for King & Queen of the Mountain for the Lincoln Gap only. As a partner event for the Gran Fondo National Series, four gaps (Appalachian Gap, Lincoln Gap, Middlebury Gap, and Brandon Gaps) will have timed segments for GFNS points.
