Belgian Waffle Ride Utah

May 23 - May 24, 2025 - Cedar City UT
Add to My Favourites

Welkom to the third stop of the Belgian Waffle Ride Quad-Tripel Crown of Gravel Series…

This is the sixth edition of the Cedar City event. We're excited to offer something completely different with the Cedar City location and give riders a chance to race on a gravel, sand, and rock route, at altitude, against some of the best cyclists from the road, gravel, MTB and unroad scenes. We have created a new route that won’t have crazy single-track sectors, but will offer a dynamic array of different, but ‘rippable’ unroad spiciness.

Cedar City has always been incredibly inviting and accommodating of the event’s needs and will really roll out the red, yellow, and black carpet for us. This year, we are excited to be able to offer the essential elements of a proper BWR with waffles, cycling in its extreme and beer... We will also have a pre-race gathering, on Friday night before the race, and on race day we all will feast on Belgian waffles, a delectable unroad course, and more Belgian waffles, plus some Belgian ale.

The BWR Utah, the Hell of the South (West), has a parcourse that is quite the juxtaposition to the ones run in California or elsewhere. The only Euro-style Spring Classic on American soil, the BWR CA is a Road Race punctuated by two dozen unroad sectors (read: dirt for 55-miles) over roughly 137-miles and 11,000 feet of climbing. Like last year, the Utah BWR in Cedar City will be an Unroad Race of 128-miles broken up with roughly nine road sectors and much less the climbing of San Diego at ~7,500 feet. Regardless of the vital stats, the BWR Utah race will offer up the same type of insanity, challenge and the unparalleled experience that has made the BWR notorious and noteworthy.

BWR UT: Get Ready for the Hell of the Southwest (Utah)

The Belgian Waffle Ride (BWR) Series is set to make history in 2025 with the introduction of the Quad-Tripel Crown of Gravel Series, a new and formidable addition to the BWR calendar (your top three of the four races are scored), and it all starts in Arizona, heads to California and then over Utah, ultimately culminating in Bozeman, Montana, June 28 - 29, 2025. The Waffle this year will be short at roughly 100-miles so folks can use this as their final tune-up before Unbound.

It’s gonna be a beast, but trust us, it’s a helluva lot of fun. If you’re game, bring a friend along for the ride—because suffering and joy are always better with company, right?

Now that you’re locked in, here’s a little taste of what to expect: We’re crafting some next-level ‘rippable’ courses that mix just the right blend of road, unroad, gravel, single-track, double-track, sand, rocks, whoops, water crossings, and mud. Every turn will be clearly marked, and we’ve amped up the Feed Zones to keep you fueled with all kinds of treats—including, of course, those iconic Belgian waffles. Expect a feed every 20 miles, staffed by our ever-enthusiastic volunteers who’ll keep you moving with smiles, snacks, and maybe even a lavender spritz if you’re feeling fancy.

Leading up to the event, keep an eye on your inbox for emails detailing the course sectors and exclusive offers from our BWR partners. Seriously, don’t be that rider who misses crucial info like the start time or venue address! Each email will also give you the option to switch to the Wafer or Wanna, or even volunteer if you’re having second thoughts (we won’t judge).

At least one ne week out, we’ll release all the new course details and all the nitty-gritty in the BWR Race Bijbel—so get ready! We will periodically reveal various unroad sectors that will be key features of the 2025 BWR UT. Again, this year, we will offer a new course!
