New Gravel Sportive
Taking place the day after the main UCI Gravel World Series race, the new sportive invites riders of all abilities to join the fun on Sunday, 18 May 2025, and explore the stunning Galloway Forest Park on one of two challenging yet rewarding routes. Designed to offer riders an incredible gravel adventure, the Sportive features two distinct routes tailored to diverse levels of endurance and skill.
The Long Route, named 'The Stag,' covers 111km with 1750m of climbing, offering a true challenge for experienced riders who crave an epic day on the gravel. The Stag will be the identical route the elite and amateur racers tackle the day before as part of the UCI Gravel World Series.
Meanwhile, the Short Route, named 'The Fawn,' spans 53km with 800m of climbing, providing a more accessible yet equally scenic option with vistas of the Solway Coast, stunning lochs and the Scottish wilderness. Both routes allow participants to immerse themselves in the beauty of Scotland’s landscapes without the intensity of a race.
The sportive is non-competitive, designed for riders to enjoy a supportive and relaxed gravel adventure, whether cycling with friends, family, or other participants. The Gralloch Sportive route offers riders everything for a successful and enjoyable day in the saddle, with fully signposted routes, professional on-route support teams, mechanical support, nutrition support, professional timing, medical back-up and several dedicated rest stops offering participants the opportunity to relax, refuel and enjoy stunning views before continuing their ride.
April 25 - 27, 2025 - Keilder Forest, Northumberland
The Dirty Reiver was the UK's first "Mid-Western" United States themed Gravel Grinders, and is a 200 km off road cycling challenge.
Now in its 10th year the 9th edition of the Panaracer Dirty Reiver continues to be one of the Premier Gravel events on the UK calendar. It attracts riders from around the world, and the routes use the extensive forest access roads in the Northern English Borders around Kielder Forest.
With distances from 65km to 200km there is something for riders of all abilities, with all routes taking in the best gravel in the area, if not in the UK.
The 200km full distance is a rite of passage in the gravel world and a real test of stamina, skill and self reliance. Expect to be 95% on gravel for the full ride – something that cannot be experienced in many places in the UK.
The Gravel Expo in the event village, set in the Kielder Castle grounds, showcases some of the best brands in the industry and provides food, drink, showers and barista coffee all on site.
All three event distances are on well surfaced hard packed gravel access roads.
The 200km event is one continuous loop with three feed stations at approx 52km, 103km and 154km approx. There is 3,100m of climbing with cut-offs at 34km and 136km if required.
With all three courses being nearly 100% off-road, riders should expect a challenging but rewarding day in the saddle.
The 130km event follows a similar route to the 200km with 2,100m of climbing, feeds at 52km and 103km and a cut-off at 34km. The 65km event has 1,000m of climning with a feed at 48km.
The courses are suitable for any off-road bike with 33c or larger tyres – preferable with an off-road tread. While the course is designed to favour gravel bikes, a hardtail MTB or similar will suffice.
Unfortunately the 2025 edition is already sold out, however you can join the waitlist!
Gritfest has become the UK's premier gravel cycling race and but remains open to all off-road bikes.
Featuring 3 days of incredible riding around the Cambrian Mountains within Mid Wales. It includes timed special stages on gravel and over a mixture of terrain.
Includes an optional prologue stage on Friday evening, and 2 full days across the weekend. With approximately 125km across the 2 days, you will need a certain level of fitness to finish. Each day there is a considerable amount of climbing.
We will have several catering outlets at the event and have worked closely with them all for a number of years. Expect good quality, tasty and nutritious food that will keep your energy levels up. There is pizza too and Stokh brewery on site.
There will be live music and entertainment on going until 10pm on Friday & Saturday night, but there will be a quiet camping area that is furthest away from the main area. Families and doghs welcome!
The WTB Prologue returns for 2025, and it will take place on Friday afternoon and early evening. This is not a compulsory stage, and it will not form a part of the overall results. Separate prizes will be awarded, including spot prizes. The course is approximately 5.4km and just a short ride from the arena. Expect a fun start to the event and a chance to get the legs warmed up for the weekend ahead.
Day 1 of Gritfest will take riders to some of the most spectacular riding and areas you will see in the UK. The first special stage takes riders through Twyi forest with a fast descent to finish. After a short linking section, SS2 is the longest of the event, into the heart of Tywi with an undulating track to keep you on your toes, and a fast finish. SS3 takes riders into new areas, with another timed section that features more descending than climbing. 3 Timed Special Stages and 1 Feed & re-fueling station
Day 2 starts with a stage around Llyn Brianne, before riding in more new sections for the event. The final timed stage is the rider's favourite downhill stage overlooking Llyn Brianne before the final few untimed kilometres back to the arena and the overall event finish. 3 Timed Special Stages and 1 Fueling & hydration station
Lauf Gritfest is as serious a race as you make it. You can try and beat your mate, try to beat everyone or just sit back and enjoy the stunning scenery around the area.
The UCI Gravel World Series is back to Wales and UCI Graean Cymru is one of the premier gravel races in Wales
It's one of the final qualifiers for the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships in Nice that take place October 17 - 18, 2025.
Take on this epic 110km course in beautiful North Wales on closed roads and trails.
Started on the shores of Llyn Brenig, this ride includes a loop of the reservoir before heading onto the smooth gravel roads of Clocaenog Forest with a few punchy climbs and fast, flowing sections. One of the most picturesque finishes of the UCI Gravel World Series with a 1km finish straight on the shores of Llyn Brenig.
The race is two laps of a 53km course. Expect a mix of terrain and a few sections of singletrack among the wider gravel fire roads.
All riders do two laps of the course (total 105km) except men 65+ and women 60+ that do one lap (53km)
Sat 6th Sep – Elite Women, men aged 50+ and all women
Sun 7th Sep – Elite men and men aged 19-49
The route is in a beautiful & remote part of North Wales and as a result, parking is very limited. Parking for the race must be purchased with your entry (in the checkout). We would really appreciate it if you can ride to the start, get dropped off or share a lift.
Llyn Brenig itself has plenty of things to do for non-riders. The visitor centre has info on local walks, watersports & attractions nearby. There are plenty of hotels & campsites in nearby Ruthin.
Last year the men's race was won by Connor Swift ahead of his cousin while the brilliant Joscelin Loweden took the women's race. It's your chance to ride with leading pros and top amateurs at a UCI event. With the worlds going to Australia in 2026 this is the last chance in a while to represent Team GB at the Gravel World Champs closer to home.

Following the success of previous editions, the 2025 event will feature an exhilarating course designed to challenge both seasoned professionals and dedicated amateur racers.
Dalby Forest, nestled in the heart of North Yorkshire on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, is a premier destination for outdoor adventure and a fitting stage for the 2025 British Gravel Championships. Known for its breathtaking scenery, varied terrain, and rich cycling heritage, including hosting the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and featuring in the Tour de Yorkshire, Dalby offers a challenging yet rewarding course. BRAND NEW GRAVEL TIME TRIAL
New for 2025, the British Gravel Championships will feature an exciting Time Trial event, giving riders the chance to test their speed and strategy against the clock. This individual race format will challenge competitors to tackle a specially designed course that highlights the fast, technical, and demanding nature of gravel racing. With no pack dynamics to rely on, riders must push their limits in a true test of pacing and power, making for an exhilarating addition to the championship weekend. National titles will be on the line across all Masters age groups and in the Junior & Elite categories.
EVENT OVERVIEW
Elite & Age-Group Gravel Races: The Championships will once again feature both elite and age-group categories, ensuring riders of all backgrounds have a chance to compete for national titles. For the first time the Masters & Junior Championships (Saturday) will take place on a separate day than the Elite Races (Sunday). This follows feedback from age-group racers wishing to spectate more Elite racing. Sunday will see a separate Men’s and Women’s Elite Race, making for a spectacular day for spectators and riders alike.
A True Gravel Test: The course designs for both the Time Trial and Gravel Races incorporate the best of British gravel, offering a mix of forest tracks, rugged sections, epic climbs and thrilling descents that demand versatility from riders. The Time Trial will test riders of 16.1km with 195m of climbing whilst all age-groups, junior and elite riders in the race will tackle 120km with 2000m of climbing (with racing taking place on a 30km lap).
Community & Spectator Experience: Beyond the racing action, the event will feature an expanded expo area, demo opportunities, entertainment, and dedicated spectator zones to enhance the experience for fans and supporters.
Additional Night-Time Challenge Event: Building on the roaring success of the Night Ride at previous British Gravel Championships events (pre-2024) will see a brand new non-Championships challenge event added to the weekend schedule. More details to be announced soon.
